4th of July

Nice day for a picnic down at Diamond Point park............Brett got down there around 7:30 so we could get one of the big pavillions.  NICE!  Then around 9 or so Doc went down and relieved him. Tina joined Dooc aroudn 11 and then we all gathered by 12 or so.

Well.............this year we decided that squirt guns would be a fun addition to the picnic!!!  It was a blast!!!  We all got wet and had fun dousing each other.........here is a pic of Bill getting blasted by Ty.........  Matia even got me!!  LOL  it was sooo much FUN!!

After that we were down at the beach making sand castles.....playing in the water and just plain relaxing.

After all the water goings on and then a little relaxing before the fireworks............lay on the blanket and jsut look at the clouds.........

Doc's Uncle Leland and his son Jerry with his girlfriend came from Milaca to spend some time with Doc and the rest of us.  We were all sitting at the beach enjoying the night whne over the radio they announced that a very bad storm was headed to Bemidji with damaging winds.  Well, we wanted to be safe so we packed up and went for home.  Got home and the guys played frisbee outside---even when it rained!  A very fun and exciting day  --- even if we didn't see any fireworks.  Looking forward to next year.............

River tubing--July 2011

Well, the kids decided to try tubing down the river.  We wake up on Tuesday morning to head for the big pink buses and the weather looks like it might rain!!  Darn it!!  We contemplate for a while and decide that we will head in the direction to see what the weather brings as we get closer to Detroit Lakes.

A quick stop for me to do do a job at  the store in Lake George.......it didn't take long and the kids got some snacks. Tina, Jess and Ty decided to walk across the street to look at a gift shop.  Tony and I came out to find them gone!!  Well...............i drove to park so that we could see them coming.  they were surprised to see the van removed from it's parking spot but Ty noticed us right away and headed to the van.  the ladies were walking rather slow so i decided to drive off!!!  FUNNY!!!  We were all laughing so hard...it was fun.  I drove down the road the girls just walked across the street to another gift shop.  I went back to get them and we all had a good laugh!!

Well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,off to tubing.  WE keep driving and the weather id just beautiful!  Great!!  now we get to go tubing.  Get there where the big pink busxses are and noone else is there.  We asked where everyone else was and they said that in a coupl e hours it would be full.  It's only 11:00 so we head out.  Get on the bus and they drop us off at the beginning.  They told us there was rope to tie toegther but we decide not to.  Well........as luck would have it........we should of tied together!  It was fun laughing the whole ride.  Tony kept on running into rocks and would give out a yell of fright and remind us the rocks were coming up.  It was fun.  Then Ty suggested to Jess they should try and stand up on the tubes......nope.......Jess landed in the river and got laughs from all! 

There were so many times that we just laughed so hard we peed!  But then, who would notice.........we were all wet anyway!!  LOL

Too bad we didn't have a camera with us but we have the memories.  Ty saved me from getting wayyyyyyyy behind all of the others..  I am not good at steering myself out of the weeds!!  Yuk!!  Not sure if we will do this again but it sure was fun for the first time.  Good choice of people to do this with.  Lover them ALL!!!  They are the best!!

On the way home we stopped at the West Forty in Park Rapids and ate wayyyyy too much food.  Good food and they all rested nicely on the way home.

Pontoon ride

What a beautiful day for a pontoon ride with family and friends..............the sun is shing and we are ready to go.  Met Janet at the landing and Vic arrived with the pontoon mintes later.  this time we are going with Amadeo, Maita, Angela, Brett, Tina, Doc and I.  the others did not want to get out of bed!!  That woud be Tony, Ty and Alex!!  Oh well, it will be a nice ride.

Nice ride around lake Bemidji............lots of nice looking houses, people out on th elake having fun and just an all around realxing time to ride.  The kids are getting a bit antsy and Matia even shared with me the she was "bored"!!  Kids are soooo funny!!  Amadeo wanted to drive the boat so Vic let him set with him and Amadeo got to steer. 

Just headed back and Brett stands up to take more pics and his hat goes flying off his head...........Vic turned around but we never did get it.  By the time we got back to shore the kids were relieved from the long ride and wanted to run!!

Thanks Vic and Janet!!  it was a very nice morning for a ride............we'll have to do it again sometime soon.

Valleyfair summer 2011

It started out as an early day for many.  Drive to the cities and then the park is just waitng for us.  It's a cloudy day so it will be very good for riding the rides.  Very few people so we can ride over and over again our favorite rides.  This year we have:  Angie, Brett, Amadeo (6), Matia (4), Jamie (16), friend Josh (18), friend Sonia (17), Tina, Doc, Tylor (17), Tony, Elizabeth(17), Camron (21) and Me!

I tell you.............that first roller coaster ride--The Wild Thing-----was very scarry!!  We went up and up and up then kinda just sat a bit then down, down , and down some more..............it felt like we were never going toreach the bottom then before you know it.....we are going up anad aroudn real fast.  Quite fun by all of us.

Tina, Matia, Amadeo and I had a blast on the ride that looks like a spider...........we all laughed soooo hard.  It was great!

The big kids had a great time since they could just go on any ride over andover again.  It was a great day to go to Valleyfair!  In fact, a few stayed at Valley fair until closing and they were all beat!  A very long day but fun was had by all even though it did rain int he evening they kept riding anyway.  They siad the rain hitting them in the face wasn't very much fun though.

Spent the night at a hotel in Shakopee and some of us played cards in the commons area.  Then we were asked to go to our room since we were laughing so much.  It was fun...then when heading back to the room Tony knocked on a door and we all took off real fast to our rooms.  I was the first one in my room and they called me "fast granny".  Ty couldn't get the room key to work and finally did only to find Tony sliding in on his knees across the room.  Doc and Ty followed............they woke up Tina laughing so hard.  It was a night to remember....................I laughed while laying in bed too.

Brett, Angie, the kids and Jessica with Camron styaed another night and went to the Mall of America for the day.  They all had a good time and came home the next day after Angela's doctor appointment.
